Africa’s economic future will not be determined by policy shifts in Washington alone, but by how we, as a continent, position ourselves to respond.
This month, our Managing Partner and Founder, Rene Awambeng, joined CT Group and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer for an engaging discussion on “The Trump Effect: What does US policy mean for Africa?” alongside Larry Grossman, Michela Wrong and Patrick Smith.
They examined the immediate and long-term implications of US policy on Africa’s domestic economies, foreign investment flows and global alliances.
One thing was clear: Africa cannot afford to simply react to external policy changes. We need to structure our own strategies, leverage regional institutions and actively shape the narrative to ensure Africa remains an equal partner in the global economy.
Thank you to CT Group for convening this conversation and to all the High Commissioners, Ambassadors and business leaders who shared their perspectives.
